Urea 40% in UEA Cream (50 ml)

What it is and what it is used for

Urea at 40% — the strength used where callus is thick and a 25% preparation has not been enough. Strongly keratolytic: it actively breaks down hardened skin rather than simply moisturising it. Also used to soften damaged or thickened nails without surgery.

How to use

Apply to the affected area at night and cover — cotton socks for heels, a dressing for nails. Daily until the callus softens, then two or three times a week to maintain.

Be aware of

Will sting on open cracks. Keep it off surrounding healthy skin. If you are diabetic, do not treat cracked heels or thickened nails at home without having your feet assessed first.
