L-lysine is an essential amino acid involved in normal immune function, collagen synthesis and tissue repair. It is commonly taken by people who are prone to recurrent cold sores, and to support skin and connective tissue health.

How to use

One capsule daily, or as directed by your prescriber.

Be aware of

Speak to your doctor before use if you have kidney or liver disease, and before taking it alongside calcium supplements, as lysine increases calcium absorption. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without advice. Frequent, severe or unusually widespread cold sores should be assessed by a doctor, who can prescribe antiviral treatment.
