Inulin Powder (100 g)
What it is and what it is used for
Inulin is a prebiotic fibre from chicory root. It is not digested in the small intestine but is fermented by beneficial bacteria in the colon, supporting a balanced gut microbiome and regular bowel function.
How to use
Start with half a teaspoon daily in water or food and build up gradually, or as directed by your prescriber.
Be aware of
Wind, bloating and cramping are common when starting — increase the dose slowly. Not suitable if you have been advised to follow a low-FODMAP diet, or during a flare of inflammatory bowel disease, without your doctor's agreement. Rarely, inulin can cause allergic reactions in people sensitive to chicory or ragweed. If this is intended for a child, please have the dose confirmed by your prescriber.
