DL-Phenylalanine Capsules (60 capsules)

What it is and what it is used for

DL-phenylalanine is an amino acid used to support the body's own pain-modulating pathways. It is thought to slow the breakdown of enkephalins, the body's natural pain-relieving peptides. It is also a precursor to tyrosine and the catecholamine neurotransmitters.

How to use

One capsule daily, or as directed by your prescriber.

Be aware of

Must not be taken by anyone with phenylketonuria (PKU). Do not use with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). Speak to your doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, an anxiety disorder, schizophrenia or tardive dyskinesia, or if you take antidepressants or levodopa. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Persistent or worsening pain should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated.
