What it is and what it is used for

Chromium bound to niacin, a form the body absorbs more readily than plain chromium salts. Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism — how the body handles carbohydrates and fats — and to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels.

How to use

One capsule daily with food, or as directed by your prescriber.

Be aware of

Chromium may lower blood glucose. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea, monitor closely and discuss your doses with your doctor — this can add to their effect. It is a supplement, not a diabetes treatment, and must never replace prescribed medicine. Speak to your doctor before use if you have kidney or liver disease. Chromium can reduce the absorption of levothyroxine and some antacids; separate the doses by at least two hours. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without advice.
