What it is and what it is used for

Higher-strength ashwagandha, an Ayurvedic adaptogenic herb from the nightshade family, used to support the body's response to stress and normal adrenal function. It also has antioxidant activity that supports mitochondrial health.

How to use

One capsule daily with food, or as directed by your prescriber.

Be aware of

Ashwagandha has been linked in rare cases to liver injury — stop and see a doctor if you develop nausea, unusual tiredness, dark urine, abdominal pain or yellowing of the skin or eyes. It can raise thyroid hormone levels, so take care if you have a thyroid condition or take thyroid medicine. Not for use in pregnancy (it may cause miscarriage) or breastfeeding. Avoid if you have a hormone-sensitive prostate condition, or an autoimmune condition, without your doctor's agreement. It may add to the effect of sedatives.
