What it is and what it is used for

Carnosine is a dipeptide concentrated naturally in the brain, heart and skeletal muscle. Levels decline with age.

It is taken for its antioxidant activity and its role in limiting glycation — the process by which sugars bind to proteins, which is one of the mechanisms associated with tissue ageing. It also buffers lactic acid build-up in working muscle.

How to use

One capsule daily, with or without food, or as directed.

Be aware of

Carnosine is well tolerated. As with any antioxidant, it works alongside diet and sleep rather than compensating for their absence.
