Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Ramsaroop Medical Centre & Aesthetic Clinic collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this online store. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Your shop account is not your medical record

This is important, so we say it plainly. Information you give this online store — your name, delivery address, and what you bought — is kept separately from any clinical records the practice holds about you. Buying a product here does not add anything to your medical file, and your medical file is not used to market products to you. If you are a patient of the practice, the two are handled by different systems and under different rules.

What we collect and why

Name, email address, delivery address and phone number — to process and deliver your order and to contact you about it.
Order history — to handle returns, refunds and queries, and to meet our record-keeping obligations under tax law.
Payment information — entered directly with our payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
Website usage data — basic information about how the site is used, so it keeps working properly.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, and only with operators who process it on our behalf:

Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders. Shopify stores data outside South Africa.
Our payment provider, which processes your card or EFT payment.
Our courier, which receives your name, delivery address and phone number in order to deliver.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with product brands or manufacturers.

Marketing

We will only send you marketing email if you have asked to receive it. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time without affecting your care or your ability to order.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for five years, as required for tax purposes. After that, we delete or de-identify them.

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, delete information we no longer need, or stop processing your information for marketing. Contact our Information Officer using the details above and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Security

This site runs over an encrypted connection and payments are handled by a certified payment provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to limit who inside the practice can see it.
